Unfun fact: gpsd does not register SHM clients as being connected to continue
listening to devices without the '-n'/'--nowait' flag. Take this with more than
a little salt.
Shill: I work a bit with the NTPsec team, and we have this script 'ntploggps'
(man page[1]), which would keep things running if the above is the cause.
