gpsd killing device adapter

Hi all,

I'm a little new to this and Linux.

I have a device connected to GPIO pins on my device.
Data should be received on pin10 which is a UART rx pin.
This I apparently connected to /dev/ttyTHS0

before running the gpsd command, I've got this:
ls -l /dev/ttyTH0
crw--w---- 1 root tty 238, <date> /dev/ttyTHS0

After running:
gpsd -D5 -N -n -F /dev/ttyTHS0

and in a separate window:
ls -l /dev/ttyTH0
srwxr-xr-x 1 root <blank> 0, <date> /dev/ttyTHS0

I'm also not getting any data.
why am I losing the group info and 238? Is these why I'm not seeing anything?

I hope that makes sense.
Thanking you in advance

Mike
