Thanks for this tip. I will try it on Monday. I had built gpsd with a fixed 
baudrate of 9600 Bd, and the module works most of the time, so if this actually 
is the root cause of the issue, it means that there is an autobaud issue in the 
module. Forcing the baudrate as you suggest would indeed fix it in this case.
