gpsd version 3.15 is current, but I do not think it would help here.

Yup, you need the 50bps data to get all the sat info.  But using the
50bps data is only usefull for post processing.

Got any doc on that?  The doc I could find does not detail what the
output would look like.  It should not be too hard to hack gpsd to
detect your GPS and query that info regularly.  Decoding the result
could also be easy, with proper doc.
