IIRC 3.9 worked fine with chrony SOCK.

Another thing to check is the socket path. Is chronyd configured with
the same path as is printed by gpsd -D 8? For example

gpsd:RAW: PPS using chrony socket: /var/run/chrony.ttyS0.sock

I'll check it. But this is exactly what I want to understand:
My device is connected to ttyUSB0 and ttyUSB1.
I am running gpsd as follow:
gpsd -b -n /dev/ttyUSB1

I put in chrony.conf the follow:
refclock SOCK /var/run/chrony.ttyUSB1.sock refid PPS

Is it right?

I am running gpsd -D 8, and it not print  "RAW: PPS using chrony socket: ..." at all.
