[gpsd-users] Unable to build gpsd in Fedora 12

Hello

I downloaded the gpsd-3.9 into my laptop running Fedora 12. When I try to build it, I get the following error

gpsd:ERROR: read-only device open failed: Permission denied
gpsd:ERROR: /dev/pts/1: device activation failed
gpsd:ERROR: device open failed: Permission denied - retrying read-only

Am I required to have a GPS device connected when I am building the program? Can someone please help me with this?
