  Sounds like you should mail the patch to the xmms-dev mailing list.  I
 had little success getting extra features added, but this patch looks
 obviously correct and useful so there shouldn't be any objection to
 it.

  Doing that would benefit everybody, and mean you'd not need to keep
 rebuilding xmms yourself!
