I have a comment that is not directly related to the gnump3d project. 
There's a niggling problem in xmms's ability to handle streaming flac 
files. The fix is simple and I've documented it here at the top of the 
page:

People have been requesting this fix for the past two years! ????

You gotta love flac files over gnump3d. Nothing better!
