Eventually, after quite some manual tweaking, our CVS tree
is available again as usual. Everything that was lost from
the crash at savannah.gnu.org was recoverable from local
copies including all metadata (tags and branches).
We will now start mirroring the CVS tree to local backup so
that recovering from this sort of thing becomes less
painful.
