Well, the strange thing is that in the case of my problem of being unable to
delete an "item", that situation arose:
1) without my having (at least intentionally) invoiced it, and
2) without my ability to find in the bills table any bills
however given that I suspended and reenabled the triggers in between which I
deleted the offending items, I will wait until the situation seems to recur to
run the queries you suggested.
