The attachments totaled ~ 300+ K and seem to have been disallowed... will send
those privately to Karsten

I found that whereas (on a fresh boot of Ubuntu Karmic) I can open OpenOffice
without difficulty from the Applications > Office menu, I cannot get it open if
I instead launch GNUmed and attempt (without first running Open Office) to use
Correspondence > Write letter
and from the available templates to choose the only OpenOffice template listed
(this was from a locally bootstrapped database, by the way), which is
Therapie...
It does not matter that my time delay was set to 40 seconds or even after
increasing to 60 seconds. That log is attached as _preOOo and after quitting
GNUmed I had to reboot the Ubuntu VM before I could launch OpenOffice from the
Applications > Office menu.
I then tried again, first launching OpenOffice Writer, which opened
Untitled 1
and I then launched GNUmed and activated Kirk via unsigned results and then
tried
Correspondence > Write letter
and this did cause the opening of
Untitled 2
and yet after some delay I was again presented with the GNUmed dialog
"Cannot connect to OpenOffice..."
so that log is attached, too
