[gnugo-devel] Defect in GnuGo 3.5.4

Dear GnuGo programmers,

thank you very much for the excellent work! GnuGo is getting better all the
time.

It seems I have stepped on a rare defect in GnuGo 3.5.4. Please see below
for details. I verified that this particular defect was not yet there in
version 3.5.3.
