Breakage without the patch is attached below. I'm not sure what's
happening with the auto* tests but excluding those, Arend's patch
produces unexpected passes in:

nngs:600, nngs:1910, nngs2:1, nngs2:60, century2002:150, global:38

Presumably there's one more extra unexpected pass in auto04:7.

It causes no failures. Good patch.
