I tried to build an RPM for gnue-common on a Fedora Core 5 system. I got
the output below that stopped almost at the start of the process. I'm
running Fedora Core 5 with Python 2.4.3.
I expected to have a problem with unlisted files, that I encountered with
Python setup.py programs until I got the setuptools people and the Fedora
people together to work out the issue. I don't know what distutils do,
but with setuptools I create a section of setup.cfg that is:
[install]
optimize = 1
because SE-Linux (that runs by default in Fedora) needs to know all the
files being installed.
What changes do I need to make to the setup.py to get it to work?

------------------------ The output from the attempt --------------------
address@hidden gnue-common-0.6.8]$ python setup.py bdist_rpm
running bdist_rpm
writing 'build/bdist.linux-i686/rpm/SPECS/gnue-common.spec'
running sdist
sh: pygettext: command not found
Could not find 'pygettext'. Strange.
It should be included in the Python distribution.
