Hi folks,
I'm the owner of a python written data migration toolkit.
GNUe needs such a tool, and I've been thinking about
releasing my kit as open source in the GNUe environment.
But I've decided against, since the need of a migration
toolkit is in several projects I know. Releasing the kit
in GNUe would probably cause additional dependencies,
making it difficult for other projects to use the kit
for their own. Therefore I'll release the kit as a own
project in SourceForge:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/pydatamig/
BUT I'll support the GNUe environment as far as possible.
This will be - probably - done via a connector to the
GNUe application server.
The normal "initial load/batch update" of tables in
RDBMS's like PostGreSQL is already supported.
Regards,
Andrew Smart
