How to set sys.path?

Hello again,
I got there warning when I installed Designer-
warning: install: modules installed to '/usr/local/gnue/lib/python/', 
which is not in Python's module search path (sys.path) -- you'll have to 
change the search path yourself

Can somwone tell me how to do this? I did a find on sys.path, but 
nothing comes up.
