Dear users,

Jan and I have recently become enthused by the WikiWikiWeb (see, and decided that it would Cool to put
the LilyPond documentation into a WikiWiki server.

The idea of WikiWiki is very simple: it is a website where each page
features a `EditText' button, which allows anyone to alter the page:
So if you see a page which incorrect, outdated, or lacks editing you
are invited to click EditText and improve the page. Hyperlinks from
and to pages are created automatically for you, by typing InThisStyle,
that word will become an URL.

The Wiki for lilypond is currently at,
and it contains the TODO file.

We will make regular backups of the site.

We hope to have all dynamic informations (bugreports, todo lists,
faqs) on the wiki site, and we hope that you will all help to make the
site stay up to date. If that happens we shpi future releases of
LilyPond with extracts of the site as documentation, and that
documentation will be better and more up to date.

It will also be easier to contribute to the documentation of Lily in
small way (eg. if you're short on time).
