anti-censorship utility

Hi,

I have never visited your site before, followed your discussions or activities, so please forgive me if I am raising an old issue.

I was just reading an article about internet censorship in China and elsewhere.  It really disturbes me that a person in China, for example, cannot go to Wikipedia and read about Tiananmen Square.

I wonder if you would consider developing an anti-censorship utility.  It would be a free and distributable utility that could be attached to any website.  If a user in a country with censorship wanted to look at a page of Wikipedia, for example, they could go to an uncensored site that has this utility.  The utility would retrieve the content of the censored page and display it.  The browser would not point to the censored site.  The browser would still continue to point to the uncensored site.

Of course, censoring governments could censor a site that contains this utility, but if it was widely distributed could they really keep up?

Just an idea, and I don't have any particular ideas about implementation.  My own skill level is not up to the task.

Thanks for your time.

Allison
