That question doesn't relate to what you are doing.  A better suited
question that answers your problem (a bit better than `man ld', where
ld isn't even documented in man pages on GNU systems nor does it
describe what linking is) is: Can I release a non-free program that's
designed to load a GPL-covered plugin-in?q

The GPL program in this case can be considered a plugin.
