All what's needed to "protect the Linux programmers" is a flag telling
whether the code is publicly available for inspection and debugging. It 
has really nothing to do with EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL and "tainting" idiocy, 
you MINI-ME (the real RMS is Dr. Evil).
