At any rate, this idea of giving more and more concessions to
corporations to keep them in a given locality is absurd: it leads
to environmental messes, tax breaks for rogue companies that
don't deserve any breaks, and a score of other ridiculous
situations. Society permits corporations to exist, society
should pass laws to force them to behave. Oh, but it turns out
the corporations control our lawmakers, so that won't happen
except in rare cases. The sheer evil that corporations represent
is enormous and it is utterly inappropriate to capitulate
and call them an acceptable evil or to become a sellout and
advocate for assisting helping them.
