In dyne:bolic since the very beginning I've been using a splash screen
with some funky images and informal language explaining why and how
and what means free.

The splash has images, buttons opening urls in icecat and some text
including a GNU GPL license text

its only dependency is GTK2 and its sourcecode in various versions
is here http://code.dyne.org/dynebolic.git (inside dyneII and dyneIII)

hope is useful, could use some polishing and updating and some
short text translated in more languages...
