the "GNU" Provider is supposed to offer what the standard JDK offers in 
term of cryptography.  to my knowledege this scheme (unless i'm 
mistaken) is not part of the JDK --only the DSA is.  all additional 
bells and whistles are in external extensions; i.e. in our case GNU 
Crypto.  so IMO digital signature schemes, other than DSA should be all 
in one place.

anyway, there is now an implementation of this signature scheme in the 
CVS.  i've already announced that i was working on one in:
