hello there,

the latest checkins include all the machinery to make both GCJ-friendly, 
and otherwise, versions of the library, with optionally making a JCE 
(javax-crypto.jar and .so).

we now make _the same way_ whether we're doing a GCJ-friendly build or 
not; ie. we build outside the cvs/distribution tree.

INSTALL, i hope, has enough info to get you going.  some polishing is 
still needed, but i think the mechaniscs are there.
