[Gnu-arch-users] Support for static builds of tla?

While tla by default builds *most* of its functionality linked static to
the binary, it still links dynamically to libc. This is rather a Bad
Thing if one wishes to build a binary which will work across multiple
distributions.

Other than manually repeating the link step of the build process with
"-static" on the command line, is there another straightforward way to
run a completely static build of tla?
