Try "sftp -v -1 savannah". That should work, the -v will give lots of
debugging output that may or may not help you to make sense of what's
happening. Try "sftp -v savannah /usr/lib/sftp-server". That should
give you no errors and an open channel that doesn't seem to do
anything. I'm guessing that it's not really hung, but you need to
speak sftp protocol to it. I don't know how to do that, but tla does.
