Make sure gnokii config file uses the correct device. I connect my phone, then tail /var/log/messages gives: Jan 3 08:1Jan 3 08:13:03 localhost kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3 Jan 3 08:13:03 localhost kernel: usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Jan 3 08:13:03 localhost kernel: ark3116 1-1:1.0: ark3116 converter detected Jan 3 08:13:03 localhost kernel: usb 1-1: ark3116 converter now attached to ttyUSB0 3:03 localhost kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3 Jan 3 08:13:03 localhost kernel: usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Jan 3 08:13:03 localhost kernel: ark3116 1-1:1.0: ark3116 converter detected Jan 3 08:13:03 localhost kernel: usb 1-1: ark3116 converter now attached to ttyUSB0 and I then I use /dev/ttyUSB0 in the config file. Guido Milanese wrote: I had been using gnokii and xgnokii for a while with a Mandriva distribution. Now I moved to Ubuntu 7.10 and I cannot use gnokii any more. The phone (Nokia 6234) connects to the PC only if I use kbluetooth -- can download files etc. With gnokii the phone cannot be detected, apparently. If I type "gnokii --monitor" I get an error message saying that the phone interface cannot be initialized. The GUI interfaces hangs for a while and gives the same kind of error message. Any suggestion (tests and so on) greatly appreciated! Guido, from Italy |
