Newbie:5140i and Debian sarge and usb

Please,

I am struggling to communicate with my 5140i using gnokii (6.13).

I have bought a usb cable for this phone, but I cannot get it to
mount.  usb pen drives mount no problem.

I do not know what to stipulate as my port device in /etc/gnokiirc.  I
have tried all of: 

# port=/dev/bus/usb/001/059

when I plug in the phone, Debian reports that it is using usb address
59 !

# port = /dev/tts/USB0
# port = /dev/ttyACM0

(Neither of the last two exist.)

I can see nothing in dmesg that helps me identify the port details.

Stuck.
