That is a good idea, no cons that I can think of.

The effort should go by Leo's example to nightly builds. Remember the 
discussion earlier? I suggested we should have CVS nightly builds for 
various operating systems. At that time I promised to handle Win32, 
latest Fedora (both i386 and x64) and latest RHEL (i386). I'm sure we 
could get bunch of volunteers if given a list of platforms to support 
and mechanisms to transfer the final products easily.
