That's about the same that happened to my 6610i. According to the repair
shop they did a software update en repaired contacts. My phone was only
3 days old, then away for repairs for 10 days. The repair was free, but
I only told them I was playing with the computer and the phone, never
told there was Linux and (x)gnokii on that computer.
When I give it *#0000# it now reports:

I'm afraid to test it with xgnokii and irda again and uptil now have
only used it for a GPRS connection from my laptop to the internet (and
over that a vpn connection to my server at home) That was the main
reason I wanted that phone for.
aart
