You need to make irda work under Linux. Then use minicom with /dev/rfcomm0
instead of /dev/ttyS0

gnokii can save your phonebook to some file. Further conversion you need
to do on your own. Working .gnokiirc would be:
port = /dev/ircomm0
model = AT
initlength = 0
connection = irda
bindir = /usr/local/sbin/
use_locking = no
smsc_timeout = 10
TELEPHONE = 12345678
