me too, but a different kind:

I trying to use gnokii on a IBM Thinkpad R32 running Debian Linux
(sarge) with the gnokii-Package from Sid.
My phone is a 6310i, connected using IrDA.

irdadump recognizes the Phone:

,--
|address@hidden:~$ su -c irdadump

Mine is identified as follows:

,--
|address@hidden:~$ gnokii --identify
|GNOKII Version 0.5.2
|IMEI : (unknown)
|Manufacturer : Nokia
|Model : (unknown)
|Revision : (unknown)
`--

Which i guess is the source of my problem: gnokii refuses to do
anything. E.g.:

,--
|address@hidden:~$ gnokii --getsms IN 0
|GNOKII Version 0.5.2
|GetSMS IN 0 failed! (Device not ready.)
`--

I get similar errors when executing other commands.
I know it is possible to get phonebook &sms messages out of the phone,
xgsm does not have any problems reading them in my current
configuration.

Some hints what to do about it? Some mistake in my setup, propably?

Thanks for your help in advance

Stefan
