SMS whilst monitoring?

Hi all,

I've just been playing with gnokii - very nice ... thank you ;).

Anyway, a question.

I want to run gnokii in monitor mode in order to catch incoming calls. 
However, I also need the ability to send an SMS at the drop of a hat. 
Is there any facility within gnokii to do this?

I don't mind writing something myself - but I also don't want to 
reinvent the wheel if this functionality already exists.
