Nokia 6310 -- question I shouldn't ask here

This is somewhat off-topic,
but I thought one (or more) of you experts
will probably have the solution to my problem,
even though it doesn't have much to do with gnokii.

In any case, I'm using Bluetooth (bluez under Linux)
to talk to my Nokia 6310.
I'm not sure if this is relevant,
but I use rfcomm (within bluez)
and minicom to set up a serial connection.

The point that puzzles me --
and which you can probably explain --
is that when I try to ring out through my Nokia
with ADT, as seen in the script below,
my Nokia shows me ringing the correct number,
but then I always get the tone showing a bad number.
Also, although the number is in my phonebook
the phone does not appear to recognise it.

Some AT commands, such as requesting phone model,
work OK, while others like ReadPhoneBookEntry,
return ERROR.

Any suggestions or advice gratefully received.
