Modem DCD is down < problem

now i was able to compile gnokii-0.4.2 for linux bt
when i tried running gnokii/xgnokii there is an error
like this. 
Lockfile /var/lock/LCK..ttyS0 is stale. Overriding
it..
ERROR: Modem DCD is down and global/require_dcd
parameter is set!
Gdk-ERROR **: Fatal IO error 9 (Bad file descriptor)
on X server :0.0.

if im not mistaken (i am lame sorry) this has to do
with my data cable.(im using 6150 for now)
but when i used mygnokii, it worked (i change the
.gnokiirc file for each program)

i was wondering what is the problem here. thanks :)
