Serial port speed?

Hi. I'm new to the list. I've got a little linux experience, but I'm still
pretty much a newbie. I thought gnokii looked interesting- so I downloaded
Version 0.4.0pre6, and compiled it on a Slackware 8 machine (I chose this
pre-release version because I have a 7110 phone).
The install went OK, but when I try

gnokii --identify

I get the following:
GNOKII Version 0.4.0pre6
Serial port speed 1073777039 not supported!
Serial port speed -1073743772 not supported!
GSM/FBUS init failed! (Unknown model ?). Quitting.

It's similar with

gnokii --monitor

Obviously there's something wrong where it's trying to open the serial
I can type AT commands at the phone and get a response.

Here's my ~/.gnokiirc for the session.

[Begin gnokiirc]-------------------------------------------------------

port = /dev/ttyS0
model = 7110
initlength = 30
connection = dlr3
bindir = /usr/local/sbin/
synchronizetime = yes

bindir = /usr/local/sbin/

synchronizetime = yes

path = c:\

I realise my [recievesms] is incorrect, but at the moment I'm just trying to
establish contact with the phone. Those serial port speeds look suspect to
me (?).
I also tried changing connection/model to 'at'- that just fails without the
serial speed errors.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance
