That is good to know!

In case anyone else was in a pinch as I was and resort to installing an 
alternative operating system, this is a good manual for installing 
debian squeeze/wheezy on the lemote yeeloong:

Also, instead of getting the kernel from www.anheng.com.cn as the prior 
link recommends, it is possible to install the software libre gnewsense 
metad kernel from:

http://www.fsfla.org/download/linux-libre/lemote/gnewsense/

No problems mixing and matching thus far :)
