Thank you for GNS! I have Delta-H 2.1 up and running fine on my
desktop and laptop now, with minor tweaking.
I run Nvidia cards on both machines with lcd displays, and use an
option that is often overlooked - dithering.
Basically, I manually add this option to my /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
Option "FPDither" "true"
EndSection
I use this on any display using the nv driver that isn't 8-bit
quality like most lower cost lcd displays, and it improves small
fonts and other details - helpful when I'm editing photos with Gimp.
Man nv for more details, but instead of just truncating the data,
it dithers it for the 6-bit lcd displays. Works for me. Of course
this is probably not necessary for very high-quality lcd's, or crt's.
I even use this on my Apple PPC G5 imac running Ubuntu, since we
rely on free nv drivers there as well, but it isn't enabled in
xorg.conf by default.
Thanks again for GNS! I'm stoked.
