There is no *copyright* restriction on ftl.c that makes it non-free
software, so it is surely is free.  Modifications to it are restricted
here, but such restrictions against infringing on the patent would as
well apply to *any other* free software, so I think ftl.c is OK.

This is in contrast to a recent non-free example on this list, where the
*copyright* conditions explicitly restricted the software to work with
only certain kinds of LocalTalk equipment.
