Hi,
I just installed the new xserver-xorg-video-siliconmotion [1] package (version
1:1.7.6-1loongson) on a yeeloong with
A/ Gnewsense [2] and
B/ debian wheezy.
A/ On the gnewsense distribution, after the initial installation I had to follow
the instruction in [2] by deinstalling the xorg server with:
sudo apt-get remove xserver-xorg-video-siliconmotion
Then, the xorg server was functional. So, this new installation of the
xserver-xorg-video-siliconmotion driver didn' change nothing.
B/ On the debian distribution, after the installation of the system, the gdm
display manager crashed with the "fail whale" error message ('oops something has
gone wrong...') after trying to bring up gnome 3. No gnome-fallback mode.
So, the installation of the new Siliconmotion display driver with
sudo dpkg -i xserver-xorg-video-siliconmotion_1.7.6_1loongson_mipsel.deb
was positive, after reusing the /etx/X/xorg.conf from [3].
Apparently there is still no hardware acceleration.
Actually, with slim and xfce4 as window manager, GUI seems ok.
