I have packaged sakis3g for Parkes. Sakis3g (http://www.sakis3g.org) is a GPLv2 program that allows one to connect to the internet using a GSM 3G USB or bluetooth modem. I used the "All architects - Binary free version's source" (http://www.sakis3g.org/#source). The package is available on http://christophe.jarry.ouvaton.org/gnu-linux/gnewsense/parkes/sakis3g_0.2.0e-3_all.deb. I would like to add this package to the official gNewSense repo. Is that possible?
Setting something up for packages that are not in Debian main, but are useful for use (e.g. GFDL stuff) is on my todo list. This software looks useful and unpervasive, so it's a good candidate to put in there. But then I'm counting on you to maintain and support it for as long as we carry it separately from Debian.
If you agree to that, please provide a source package (or its debian directory, so we can keep it in VCS like the rest, e.g. [1]).
