My trying to install xv was a mistake. The program I wanted was gv.
Nonetheless, It seems like a bug to get the message I got.
The package that refers to it is x11-common, one of the X.org binaries.
The reference is in Conflicts, meaning that xv is removed when X.org is
installed.
Should x11-common be fixed not to refer to xv?
Maybe there should be a "discard package" list
and all mentions of those packages should be removed
when copying other packages from Debian.
