D--, an hero of the #beijinglug irc channel made a customized kernel for
the Lemote Yeeloong:

http://cinnamonpirate.com/pub/misc/loongson/kernel/linux-headers-2.6.27.1-medan_2.6.27.1.medan.20090203_mipsel.deb

http://cinnamonpirate.com/pub/misc/loongson/kernel/linux-image-2.6.27.1-medan_2.6.27.1.medan.20090203_mipsel.deb

<D--> graz: the main advantages in this kernel over the default are:
1. squashfs, 2. unionfs, 3. 1000Hz interrupt (lower latency).
Those first two aren't going to be interesting for you since you use an
8089B
<D--> But on an 8089A, it's mission critical
<D--> The only other change is that the entire kernel is built at
extremely high optimization levels
<D--> I have NO CLUE about acpi to be honest. Do you still have the
lemote OS on your computer? I killed it.
<D--> I'd like to know what they are running
<D--> The lemote repository doesn't even HAVE an acpi daemon
<D--> they have code for it that can't be compiled
<D--> I noticed that all the official debian repos are missing a mipsel
build of acpid too
