51.11.0 is required (when flash video was included) 51.27.0 is recommended as it also includes VP6 video decoding The one in the current debian distribution certainly works (tho it is pre-VP6). You can get the tarball at http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/f/ffmpeg/ffmpeg_0.cvs20060823.orig.tar.gz (HOWTO: Go to http://packages.debian.org, search package "ffmpeg" and download the link at the bottom "More information on ffmpeg"...
