Follow-up Comment #1, patch #8086 (project gnash):
George, do you run the full testsuite ? Most of it requires to have libming
installed, and there other other dependencies to run other portions of it. The
more you have the more tests you'll be able to prove your patch against. The
./configure invocation should give you WARNING lines for missing test
dependencies.
I ask because I get failure which make it hard to determine if your patch
introduces new failure or new successes. See bug #39338
