the front end of gm2 is the front end of m2f (m2f only generates code for
*86 processors and an abstract machine). The gm2 work is progressing
and it is now able to compile itself with a gcc shapshot from two weeks ago.
You can download the last working snapshot of gm2+gcc from
floppsie.comp.glam.ac.uk.
The aim is to get gm2 included in the actual gcc tree which
likely to occur after the release of gcc-3.0. On the gm2 side there are
plently of todo's:
- improve libraries
- improve Makefile.in's & config.h
- make p2c compile cleanly when -Wall is supplied
- add more features of M2 found in PIM3 & PIM4
- move test suite into dejagnu format
regards,
Gaius
