Ambica if u r trying to login with root account in graphical phase...its not
possible(for safety purpose).. to do this u need to change conf file of KDM
or  GDM....
Can u log in with other user account??

im unable to login with any userid or as the root user.....
ive reinstalled mandriva with d GNOME De..... n now there r no prblmz occuring.....
