Hello,

As you know, one of the goal for the 1.0 release is to have a fully working GL 
backend, because it is much faster then software renderer. One way to achieve 
it is to remove glSDL and write a clean GL backend. In this idea, I have 
written a utilitiy, located in the tools/ folder on CVS, that takes a list of 
png and create several 256x256 surface to hold them. This should allow 
efficient use of graphic card memory.
