There is of course no problem to import parts of Gmm++ code into a free project like Eigen and distribute them with the GPL+exception license used by this project.
Great! Meanwhile, I have come to think that it might be best to import a copy of the whole unmodified GMM into KDE's SVN, and then add to Eigen wrapper classes letting Eigen and GMM play together nicely. Importing an unmodified copy of GMM has the advantage that it allows to easily sync it later, whenever you release new versions. It reduces the risk of forking.
This means that KDE apps would also be able to easily use GMM directly if they prefer to.
I will now write to kde-devel about that. Benoit
