      from  816c2c0   code simplifications and clean up
       new  801f426   Make computation of gradient and hessian of fem thread 
safe.
       new  4b580c0   Hierarchical fem should recompute again grad and hessian, 
instead of taking the copy from the initial fem.
       new  ec500b1   Make sure that the grad and hess computations are thread 
safe.
